ECZ suspends eight GCE exam centres, nullifies 4,771 results due to malpractice

The Examinations Council of Zambia (ECZ) has suspended eight GCE examination centres and invalidated 4,771 exam results due to reported incidents of malpractice.

Council Public Relations Manager, Nicolas Nkhuwa, announced that the affected centres would not conduct examinations until further notice.

In a statement issued in Lusaka on Tuesday, Nkhuwa warned prospective candidates from these institutions to be aware of the situation.

“ECZ will not hesitate to nullify examination results for any perpetrators of examination malpractices,” he stated.

The suspended centres include:

1. Isoko GCE Centre (Code: 1765) in Mpulungu District, with results nullified for 116 candidates.

2. Mapunga GCE Centre (Code: 6190) in Mushindamo District, with results nullified for 204 candidates.

3. Kasapa Day Secondary GCE (Code: 6265) in Mushindamo District, with results nullified for 204 candidates.

4. Sefula GCE Centre (Code: 8083) in Mongu District, with results nullified for 653 candidates.

5. Chitimukulu Secondary GCE (Code: 9047) in Lusaka District, with results nullified for 1,318 candidates.

6. Gesam Secondary GCE (Code: 9065) in Chilanga District, with results nullified for 451 candidates.

7. Bethlehem Secondary GCE (Code: 9991) in Chilanga District, with results nullified for 1,725 candidates.

8. Mukupa Kaoma Day Secondary GCE (Code: 1769) in Lunte District, with results for two papers nullified, affecting 100 candidates.
