The Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) has apprehended four suspects involved in illegal selling of drugs in Choma, Southern Province.
Public Relations Officer, Mwenge Mulenga, said the four were caught trafficking 68 packets of heroin and other drugs.
Mwenge identified the suspects as Lushomo Banda, male aged 21, of Choma town who was found with 68 sachets of heroin weighing over four grams.

He identified others found with loose cannabis as Gift Mudenda, male aged 20, Luckson Mulunda, aged 23 and Simon Mashikini, aged 27, all of Choma town.
Mwenge said this in a statement issued in Lusaka on Monday.
Further, the Commission in Northern Province arrested two suspects and seized fresh cannabis plants weighing 527.3 kilogrammes (Kg).
The suspects were identified as Febian Chipasha, aged 67 from Chitoshi Village of Lunte District.
He said Chipasha was slapped with the offence of unlawful cultivation of 482kgs of fresh Cannabis plants.
Gabriel Chama, aged 35 of Kabuta Village of Luwingu District, was also facing a similar offence of unlawful cultivation of 45.3kgs of fresh cannabis plants.
“All the suspects have been charged with offences contrary to section 15 of the Narcotic and Psychotropic Substances Act no. 35 of 2021 of the Laws of Zambia,” he said.
Mwenge said the suspects would appear in court soon.
