The Ministry of Finance and National Planning has disbursed K15.7 billion for the month of November, aimed at supporting developmental programmes and enhancing public service delivery.

A portion of the released funds included K4.1 billion allocated for servicing both domestic and external debt.

Additionally, K4.8 billion was directed towards covering the public service wage bill.

A detailed report published by the Ministry on Wednesday revealed the breakdown of the disbursements: K3.4 billion for transfers, subsidies, and social benefits; K2 billion for the implementation of various developmental programmes and general operations; and K1.4 billion earmarked for capital expenditure.

Finance and National Planning Minister, Situmbeko Musokotwane, commenting on the release, expressed confidence in the government’s strategy to build economic resilience and ensure inclusive growth.

“By achieving significant milestones in resolving the crushing external debt burden, such as the recently signed debt restructuring agreement between France and Zambia, the Government was taking progressive steps in re-establishing economic governance credibility with the rest of the global community,” Musokotwane said.

He stated that these efforts were laying a strong foundation for a prosperous and sustainable future, ensuring that no citizen is left behind in the country’s development journey.
