The Ndola High Court has suspended the Football Association of Zambia ( FAZ) Annual General Meeting (AGM ) which was sheduled for this weekend.
This followed an application by football administrator, Damiano Mutale and journalist, Mabvuto Phiri, to have the non-elective general meeting halted on grounds that the FAZ constitution had been altered.
The duo accused FAZ chief, Andrew Kamanga and his Secretary General, Reuben Kamanga of altering the constitution without following applicable procedure or input of stakeholders.
“Upon reading the affidavit sworn by Damiano Mutale filed in support herein and upon hearing counsel for the plaintiff, it is hereby ordered that the FAZ AGM scheduled for April 27, 2024, be and is hereby stayed pending the hearing and determination of this matter,” read the order.
The Court has set July 10, 2024, for interparte hearing.
