When the matter came up for return of bench warrant, arresting officer, Friday Malimakau, informed Magistrate Sylvia Munyinya that concerned operatives were still searching for Kaizer.

Malimakau, however, complained to Court that one of Kazier’s surety, Lumezi Member of Parliament, Munir Zulu, has not been cooperative in assisting the police to locate the accused.

“Of the two sureties honourable, Fube Mulenga, is very cooperative with the police, the other surety who is hostile is honourable Munir Zulu. In person, he has issued intimidating threats to the arresting officer, that is myself. Your honour, he has also gone ahead using social media to make wild threats to the arresting officer. I wish to have the bench warrant extended so that the joint investigations can continue,” he said.

But Munir said he had been in constant communication with the arresting officer and was still hopeful, Kazier would be found.

Magistrate Munyinya extended the bench warrant and adjourned the matter to August 4, 2023 for return of bench warrant against Kaizer.

Meanwhile, Lusaka business executive, Francis Muchemwa, commonly known as ‘Commander 2’, was on Tuesday released from prison after he secured the trust of another surety, Lupososhi Member of Parliament, Emmanuel Musonda.

Muchemwa was on Monday remanded in prison after Matero MP, Miles Sampa, withdrew as his surety.

He is charged with eight counts of possession of property worth K12 million deemed to be proceeds of crime and tax evasion .

The matter is before Lusaka Chief Resident Magistrate, Davies Chibwili.
