Banda’s goal-scoring prowess and playmaking have shined, with 16 goals and six assists in the 2023/2024 season.

Despite Zambia’s group stage exit at the 2024 Olympic Games, Banda maintained her impressive form, scoring four goals in three matches.

The nominees for the Ballon d’Or 2024 were revealed on Wednesday during a live stream by L’Equipe.

While Banda was unlikely to reach the podium, her outstanding performances have earned her recognition among the world’s elite.

Reacting to the news of her nomination, Banda said: “I am very excited to get my first nomination for the Ballon D’or. This is not possible without the hard work of my teammates at club and national team plus my coaches and of course each and every one of you support my journey. #BB11 #BlessedChild #BallondOr.”
