Womenovate Founder and CEO, Motunrayo Opayinka, has highlighted the significant impact of women’s contributions in transforming Africa’s telecoms and technology sectors.
Opayinka said that women were driving this transformation through innovation, leadership and advocacy, which not only advances the technology industry but also promoted social and economic development across the continent.
She made these remarks in a statement on Saturday, ahead of Womenovate’s participation in the upcoming 27th edition of the Africa Tech Festival, scheduled for November in South Africa.
“Women are significantly transforming the telecoms and technology landscape in Africa through innovation, leadership, and advocacy. Their contributions are advancing the industry and driving social and economic development across the continent,” Opayinka said.
In addition, Informa’s James Williams, Event Director of Africa Tech Festival, noted that the festival offered a unique platform for Africa’s tech ecosystems to collaborate and drive positive change.
“Building a more inclusive, sustainable world means uniting the world’s most inspirational founders, business leaders, policymakers, investors, and rising stars. We are delighted to see so many inspirational female tech executives featured in this year’s speaker line-up.
