Police investigations, aided by the Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority (ZICTA), traced her last known location to Chongwe District, but efforts to locate her were unsuccessful due to her phone being switched off.

Nachivula returned to her father’s home on Monday and was taken to the police station.

During questioning, she admitted the abduction was fabricated and that she had willingly left with Saili, who resides in a boarding house near the university.

Both individuals are currently in custody, awaiting formal charges.

Hamoonga warned the public against misleading the police regarding abductions, stating that such actions would be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
