BuyZed Campaign has urged the Zambian government to introduce tax incentives that benefit local businesses, encourage household spending, and drive job creation.
BuyZed Founder, Evans Ngoma, stressed the need for policies that promote local economic activity and entrepreneurship, arguing that strategic tax cuts could serve as a catalyst for Zambia’s economic growth.
“We believe that local spending and strategic tax cuts can be a powerful catalyst for Zambia’s economic growth,” Ngoma told Zambia Monitor in an exclusive interview in Lusaka.
He emphasized that by keeping money within local communities, the government could stimulate job creation, boost business growth, and generate increased revenue for public services and infrastructure development.

“When money is spent locally, it has a multiplier effect—creating jobs, supporting businesses, and increasing government revenue,” Ngoma said.
He further noted that tax incentives could increase disposable income for households, allowing them to spend more on local goods and services, while also encouraging businesses to expand and invest.
Ngoma urged the government to create an environment that attracts both local and foreign investment, making Zambia a more competitive business destination.
“By working together, we can unlock Zambia’s economic potential and create a brighter future for all,” he stated.
