Brighton capitalised on a catastrophic error by Manchester United goalkeeper, Andre Onana, to secure a convincing victory at Old Trafford, handing the Red Devils their fourth loss in five Premier League home games.

Yankuba Minteh and Kaoru Mitoma had already put the visitors ahead when Onana’s costly mistake sealed their fate.

In a match reported by the BBC Sports, the Cameroonian goalkeeper failed to secure a low cross from Yasin Ayari, inexplicably fumbling the ball into the path of substitute Georginio Rutter, who slotted into an empty net.

The loss came on an emotional day for United as they mourned the passing of legendary striker Denis Law.

Despite a Bruno Fernandes penalty levelling the score in the first half, Brighton dominated proceedings.

Mitoma’s goal, following a deft chip from Minteh, was the turning point as United’s defensive struggles continued.

Brighton’s win marked their sixth in seven meetings with United and their third consecutive victory at Old Trafford, equalling Manchester City’s Premier League record.

The result leaves Ruben Amorim’s side languishing in the bottom half, with just three wins in their last 10 games.

Meanwhile, Fabian Hurzeler’s Brighton strengthened their push for European football, maintaining their impressive form with six wins in their last seven matches.

Everton shock Tottenham with first-half blitz in Moyes’ triumphant return

David Moyes earned his first win since returning to Everton as the Toffees dismantled a lacklustre Tottenham Hotspur 3-2 at Goodison Park.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Iliman Ndiaye gave the hosts a flying start, scoring twice within 30 minutes.

According to Reuters, an own goal from Spurs’ Archie Gray on the stroke of halftime compounded the visitors’ misery, leaving Tottenham trailing by three at the break.

Despite second-half strikes from Dejan Kulusevski and Richarlison, Everton held firm to secure a vital win.

The result lifts the 16th-placed Toffees four points clear of the relegation zone, while Tottenham remain 15th, with growing concerns over their form.
