Drug Enforcement Commission arrests five Egyptians, six Zambians for alleged espionage

The Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) has formally arrested and charged five Egyptian nationals and six Zambians including a senior police officer for espionage.

The agency has undertaken this development while working in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies, says DEC Public Relations Officer, Hussein Khan, in a statement on Monday.

Khan said espionage was contrary to section 3 (a) of The State Security Act Cap 111 of the Laws of Zambia.

“The suspects are expected to appear in court today,” he said.
