David Mwale, a Zambian boxer, popularly known as ‘Zesco punches,’ has assured his fans that he will undoubtedly knock out his opponent, Innocent Matengu, a South African boxer, in round 4 of the match.

Speaking in an interview with Zambia Monitor on Friday, Mwale, who weighed 53.40 kg, stated that his preparation for the fight involved studying all his opponent’s moves, which he claimed made the South African boxer vulnerable to him.

“I am very much ready for this fight; I have been making sure that I work extra hard… What I can say is that they need just to come in numbers tomorrow to come and witness Zesco punches… I don’t think he will go past round six; I am going to knock him out in round four,” he boasted.

Mwale advised boxing fans to show up in numbers to witness what he called ‘Zesco punches’ all over his opponent’s face.

Meanwhile, Matengu, who weighed 53.50 kg, said he has so far won four belts, and the ABU champion title would be his fifth.

“I am a former SA, former IBF, former WBA pan-african… I am not gonna say much, but I am here not to play, I am here to take what is mine,” Matengu declared.

He said Mwale’s prideful talk was philosophical and everyone had the right to say what they want, but a majority of sayers fail to live up to their words.

David Mwale and Innocent Matengu are set to battle in the eleventh bout for the African union ABU Bantamwieght title on Saturday at government complex in Lusaka, Zambia.
