Bank of Zambia governor, Kalyalya, reappointed for six-year term

Bank of Zambia (BoZ) Governor, Denny Kalyalya’s contract has been renewed.

Assistant Director of Communications, Besnat Mwanza, announced in a statement on Tuesday that Kalyalya had been re-appointed.

“BoZ is pleased to announce that Dr. Kalyalya has been reappointed as Governor of BoZ for a term of six years, effective October 28, 2024, in line with Section 10 of the BoZ Act No. 5 of 2022,” Mwanza said.

She noted that Kalyalya had demonstrated exceptional leadership and has been instrumental in strengthening the financial sector.

Mwanza added that Kalyalya’s leadership had enhanced the Bank’s contribution to macroeconomic management and stability during challenging times.

“Dr. Kalyalya also played important roles in ensuring financial stability at regional, continental, and international levels,” she said.

“The board, management, and staff of the Bank take this opportunity to congratulate Dr. Kalyalya on his reappointment and wish him God’s guidance as he continues to execute his responsibilities as Governor,” Mwanza concluded.
