Chrispin Chiindu, the Socialist Party’s aspiring Member of Parliament (MP) for Munali Constituency, has resigned from the party, raising concerns about its leadership.

Chiindu, who also held a position on the party’s National Management Committee, submitted his resignation letter, highlighting issues within the party as the reason for his departure.

In a letter addressed to the party president and made public in Lusaka on Saturday, Chiindu stated that his decision was prompted by the party’s intolerance of differing opinions and its failure to resolve internal conflicts.

“The party’s leadership has shown an inability to embrace diverse viewpoints and this lack of tolerance, coupled with unresolved internal conflicts, has led me to this decision,” Chiindu explained in his letter, titled “Resignation from the Socialist Party.”

Despite his resignation, Chiindu emphasized his ongoing commitment to serving the people of Zambia.

“I remain dedicated to my mission of serving the people of Munali Constituency and will continue to pursue my goal of becoming their Member of Parliament in the 2026 general election,” he stated.

Chiindu reassured his supporters that he would not abandon his ambitions and vowed to continue advocating for the interests of the Munali constituency.
