Ahead album release, fans slam Mordecaii for allegedly resulting to ‘fake beef’ with Kazadi Music

“You Are My Fire” hitmaker Mordecaii has accused his former manager, David Kazadi, of delaying the release of his highly anticipated album SELFLESS.

In a Facebook post on Tuesday evening, Mordecaii wrote: “I can’t believe Kazadi Music wants to block me from dropping my album again!!!! … we can’t keep doing this David Kazadi.”

However, the artiste’s allegations have been met with heavy criticism from fans, many of whom dismissed the claims as a publicity stunt.

Among the critics was Maureen Nkambo Nyeleti, who commented: “The stunts are now becoming boring.”

Chanda John Chimba urged Mordecaii to explore more innovative ways to market the album, stating: “Use better strategies to promote your album, not through this fake beef. This is why we are still behind. You will never perform from the sky like Chris Brown if you don’t get creative.”

Similarly, MacDonald Mayaba advised Mordecaii to focus on releasing the album instead of resorting to drama. He wrote: “Just drop the album already and leave the pranking games to Chile One and Tianna. They do it better.”

Another fan, Raphael TX, speculated about the quality of the album, commenting: “Perhaps he knows that all the songs are just trash or covers of other songs (like ‘Fire,’ the cover for Davido’s ‘Competition’).”

Pencil artist Mercy G Art, who has over 100,000 followers on Facebook, also weighed in, saying: “This strategy though, you are a big brand. You are bigger than this mweh. There are better ways of promoting it. Otherwise, I love your music—keep it up! Tuleteleniko ichamu December.”

Despite the backlash, Kazadi Music issued a statement later that evening confirming the album’s delay.

Mordecaii has repeatedly stated in interviews that the album is a dedication to his late father. It is now expected to be released on December 20, just four days before Zambia’s top artiste, Yo Maps, is set to launch his album.
