Agency attributes delay in road maintenance to high rainfall, as govt disburses K29.4m
The Road Development Agency (RDA) has this month received and disbursed K29.4 million to the Regional Offices to carry out maintenance works.
These are maintenance works on Trunk, Main and District (TMDs) roads, according to RDA acting director communications and corporate affairs Anthony Mulowa.
Mulowa explained that the funds that had been disbursed to the Regional Offices would be used to carry-out pothole patching and edge repairs.
“However, the Agency through the Regional Offices has not been able to carry out these works due to the high moisture content in the exposed potholes for the past few weeks arising from the high amount of rainfall that the country has been experiencing.
“Therefore, pothole patching works will commence once the weather conditions become favourable. The Agency will continue to monitor the weather pattern and will commence the works once the conditions become favourable to undertake road works,” he said.
