Access Bank has pledged to sustain its support for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) through continued sustainable financing solutions and strategic collaborations aimed at enhancing capacity building and promoting sustainable business practices.

This commitment was emphasized by the Bank’s Managing Director, Lishala Situmbeko, during the SME Capacity Building Training Programme held in Livingstone on Tuesday.

In a speech, delivered on his behalf by Head of Business Banking, Ivwananji Kasanda, Situmbeko highlighted the bank’s innovative cash flow-based lending options, which are designed to revolutionize SME financing by allowing businesses to access funds based solely on account inflows, thereby ensuring more inclusive access to finance.

Situmbeko underlined Access Bank’s ongoing dedication to SMEs, noting that the Bank’s offerings are specifically tailored to meet the needs of this vital sector.

He noted that navigating the complexities of business operations required more than just banking services.

The bank’s approach, he stated extended beyond traditional financial support, focusing on building capacity and fostering long-term investments in sustainable business practices.

“Access Bank’s own growth story reflects the significant potential within SMEs. From humble beginnings, we have evolved into one of the top five banks in the region through strategic partnerships and meaningful collaborations,” Situmbeko stated.

“With the right support and vision, SMEs have the potential to grow, thrive, and make a lasting impact,” he added.

He encouraged SMEs to take full advantage of the bank’s tailored offerings and commended their resilience, creativity, and aspirations, which drive not only their own success but also contribute to the broader economy.

“Let us all leverage effective partnerships to drive innovation, build resilience, and ensure the continuous success of local SMEs and cooperatives,” Situmbeko said.
