James Musonda 20 of Ndola, Copperbelt Province has been arrested by police for raping his mother, 55, after a violent altercation.
This reportedly occured on February 28,20 25 between 19:00 hours and 19:30 hours in Chipulukusu compound.
Facts are that the victim lives with the suspect she chased away from her home because of his bad behaviour.
It happened that after she had gone to the market and returned home she found the suspect quarrelling with his uncle and the moment he saw her he started insulting her as well.
At this point she decided to leave home and went out for a walk.

On her way back home as she walked she felt someone holding her right hand.
She turned round to see who it was only to discover that it was her son, when asked what the problem was, the boy started insulting her and slapped her on her face several times and then pushed her to the ground.
He undressed her and forced himself on her and had unlawful carnal knowledge her.

Copperbelt Police Chief Peacewell Mweemba in a statement on Sunday revealed that the victim shouted for help and a woman who was passing by the same path rushed to the rescue.
Mweemba upon noticing, the suspect ran away and the victim reported the matter at Mapalo Police Post.
“She sustained a swollen right eye and headache and was issued with a medical report form and docket of case was opened,” he said.
She went home to sleep waiting for the next day to go to the hospital.
The following day around 05:00 hours when she woke up she found the suspect in her living room seated.
She shouted for help and her neighbors quickly responded to her call and apprehended the suspect whom they took to the Police Post where he was detained and is currently in police custody.
