The murder case involving Independent Broadcasting Authority (IBA) Director-General, Guntila Muleya, has stalled after one of the accused, 37-year-old systems engineer Samuel Baza Dokowe, was reported unwell.

Dokowe, together with IBA accountant Francis Chipyoka, and police officers M’Thusani Baza Dokowe, 29, and Alex Caleb Zulu, 30, was scheduled to take plea before the Lusaka High Court.

However, due to Dokowe’s health condition, the matter has been adjourned to April 11 for possible plea.

The four are jointly charged with one count of murder, contrary to Section 200 of the Penal Code, Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.

They allegedly acted together to murder Muleya on July 23, 2024, in Lusaka’s Njolwe area.

Muleya’s body was discovered with two gunshot wounds. A witness reported hearing two sharp cracks of gunfire on the night of the incident.
