Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Gift Sialubalo, has directed that all completed Constituency Development Fund (CDF) projects be commissioned within 60 days, starting Monday, April 7, 2025.

According to a statement issued in Lusaka on Friday by Ministry Principal Public Relations Officer, Liseli Kanyanga, the directive aligned with the government’s commitment to accelerating development and improving service delivery.

Sialubalo instructed local authorities to work closely with Members of Parliament, District Commissioners, and Provincial Administrations to ensure smooth implementation.

“In cases where a Member of Parliament or a representative of the Central Government is unavailable, appropriate delegations should be made to prevent delays in the commissioning process,” he said.

He also announced restrictions on official travel for Principal Officers during this period to facilitate effective coordination.

Sialubalo reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to sustainable development through efficient execution and monitoring of government-funded projects.

“All stakeholders must support this initiative to ensure that communities benefit from the completed projects without delay,” he stated.
