UPND National Youth Chairperson, Gilbert Liswaniso, has accused the opposition Patriotic Front (PF) of sponsoring social media campaigns aimed at insulting President Hakainde Hichilema.
In a statement issued in Lusaka, Liswaniso claimed that derogatory language and personal attacks had become the PF’s political strategy.
He urged the former ruling party to embrace modern politics based on the exchange of ideas rather than insults.
“We have it on firm ground that the PF is sponsoring social misfits and dissidents like ‘WHY ME’—or whatever name he responds to—to insult the Republican President,” Liswaniso said.
He alleged that the individual was being financed by PF faction leader and Matero Member of Parliament Miles Sampa on one side, and PF vice president Given Lubinda, representing the Edgar Lungu-led faction, on the other.
Liswaniso advised the PF to focus on rehabilitating “WHY ME” instead of using him for political attacks.
He further claimed that the PF had resorted to maligning President Hichilema, whose administration was reportedly working to reverse the economic hardships inherited from the former ruling party.
“Thankfully, Zambia is now on the rise under President Hichilema. Economic hardships caused by the PF will soon be a thing of the past, as the President has laid a firm foundation for rebuilding,” he claimed.
