Patriotic Front (PF) factional leader, Miles Sampa, has reportedly expelled five Members of Parliament (MPs) and two other officials from the party for alleged gross indiscipline and violations of the PF constitution.

In a statement on Monday, Sampa said the decision was made during the party’s fifth Central Committee meeting, which sought to restore discipline and unity within the former ruling party.

“Among the issues discussed was the continued gross indiscipline and misconduct of some members of Parliament. To foster unity and discipline, the committee decided to take action,” Sampa stated.

List of Expelled Members:

Robert Chabinga – Expelled for unilaterally declaring, without consulting the Central Committee or grassroots structures, that the PF was in or would form an alliance with the ruling UPND.

Morgan N’gona – Expelled for gross misconduct.

Anthony Mumba – His earlier expulsion, announced by Sampa two months ago, was ratified by the Central Committee. The party’s legal team has been directed to ensure that the National Assembly and the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) enforce his removal.

Andrew Lubusha – Expelled for gross misconduct.

Elias Daka – Expelled for gross misconduct.

Sunday Chanda – Expelled for gross misconduct.

Gideon Tembo (Lundazi Council Chairman) – Expelled for gross misconduct.

Sampa further urged PF members to respect former President Edgar Lungu, whom he described as the “pillar and father” of both the party and the nation.

“We call for reconciliation and unity among all who love this party,” he said.

The latest expulsions may highlight the deepening factional battles within the PF, as rival groups continue to contest leadership and control over Zambia’s main opposition party.
