Kabwe Warriors Football Club has appointed Albert Kachinga as Head Coach on a three-month contract, with an option for review based on performance.

Club Media and Communications Officer, Kelvin Musako, announced Kachinga’s appointment in a statement issued in Lusaka on Monday, following the departure of Coach Numba Mumamba and Noel Mwandila to ZANACO FC.

Kachinga brings extensive experience in Zambian football, having previously coached Nchanga Rangers, Red Arrows, Prison Leopards, and most recently, Trident.

He also made history as the first Zambian coach to qualify the Zambia U17 Women’s Team for the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica. Between 2011 and 2018, he led the Zambia Women’s National Team.

Kabwe Warriors Chairman, Mutale Ng’andu, expressed confidence in Kachinga, assigning him the task of winning the ABSA Cup and steering the club toward continental qualification.

“Coach Albert Kachinga is no stranger to Kabwe Warriors. He played for the club in the 1980s and has also coached Prison Leopards, making the local derby an exciting contest. We believe he can help us get back on track,” Ng’andu said.

Meanwhile, Kachinga said he was honored to take up the role and pledged to help the team achieve its objectives.

“The team has been performing well, and my role is to build on that momentum. We will do our best to meet the goals set before the previous coaches departed,” he said.
