Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) president, Andrew Kamanga, has announced that the association will provide US$25,000 in financial support to clubs participating in Confederation of African Football (CAF) competitions.
Speaking at the 2025 Zambian Premier League (ZPL) Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Lusaka on Sunday, Kamanga revealed that starting next season, qualifying teams will receive a US$50,000 package.
He also reaffirmed FAZ’s commitment to technical support, citing the recent distribution of Global Positioning System (GPS) equipment to all Super League clubs.
Kamanga further disclosed that plans for introducing the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system in the Zambian Super League were at an advanced stage, with 40 operators already trained by COSAFA and FIFA.
“Our VAR project is progressing well. It has been a gradual process, starting with a pilot in the ABSA Cup final between Forest Rangers and MUZA,” he said.
Additionally, it is learnt that FAZ is negotiating with a new broadcast partner to replace SuperSport, which would exit the Zambian market at the end of the current season.
“Talks are ongoing with a broadcaster, and we are incorporating local partners and content producers to enhance the deal,” Kamanga stated.
He also announced that FAZ would franchise the marketing of the KoPa brand and its products to the ZPL, allowing clubs full access to its offerings.
