Exodus Boxing Academy has launched the Fire Punch Boxing Tournament, set to take place next month, reportedly aimed at showcasing and promoting local boxing talent.
Speaking at the launch event held at Top Star Building in Lusaka on Thursday, Exodus Boxing Academy Chairperson, Christian Kaluma stated that the tournament would provide an opportunity to elevate Zambian boxing on the global stage while inspiring young athletes.
“This is a movement and celebration of boxing aimed at giving Zambia an opportunity to shine,” Kaluma said.

The main bout of the tournament would feature Zambia’s Violet Phiri (AKA Ginger) facing Zimbabwe’s Violent Kakorera in a highly anticipated clash.
At the same event, Sports and Arts Minister, Elvis Nkandu, reaffirmed government’s commitment to developing sports in Zambia.
Nkandu highlighted that beyond showcasing local talent, the tournament would serve as a platform for young boxers to gain international exposure.
“This tournament is not just about showcasing talent; it provides a platform for upcoming boys and girls to demonstrate their skills on an international stage,” Nkandu said.
He added that the event should be celebrated as it would help take Zambian boxing careers to the next level by bringing in international competitors.
