The Copperbelt University (CBU) has confirmed a tragic road accident involving its students, which claimed two lives and left several others injured.
The accident occurred on Wednesday at Kafulafuta along the Ndola-Kapiri road when a bus traveling from Kitwe to Lusaka, carrying 68 passengers—including 47 CBU students—was involved in the crash.
CBU Public Relations Officer, Christabel Malama, confirmed the incident in a statement, identifying one of the deceased as a CBU student.

“The University extends its deepest condolences to the family, friends, and the entire CBU community during this difficult time,” Malama said.
She added that CBU was in close contact with authorities and working to provide necessary support to the affected students.
“We urge the University community to stand in solidarity and keep the bereaved family and the injured students in their thoughts and prayers. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available,” she stated.
