Anti-corruption commission suspends secretary, Mukwanka, following arrest over alleged abuse of office

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has suspended the Secretary to its Commission, Ivor Mukwanka, following his arrest on charges of abuse of office.

Mukwanka, 54, from Lusaka, was arrested by ACC officers on two counts of abuse of office, as per Section 21 (1) (b) of the Anti-Corruption Act No. 3 of 2012.

The charges stem from his acquisition of a Commission vehicle for personal use without prior authorization from the Commission’s Director General.

Mukwanka had been released on bond and is scheduled to appear in court soon.

The ACC reiterated its commitment to combating corruption at all levels, emphasizing that it will continue to enforce its core values and operational guidelines.
