Patriotic Front (PF) Chairperson for Information and Publicity, Emmanuel Mwamba, is facing possible arrest after the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court issued a bench warrant against him for failing to appear in court.

Presiding Magistrate Amy Masoja warned that Mwamba’s police bond could be revoked if he did not present himself before the court by February 26.

Mwamba, along with co-accused Jacqueline Chopa, 49, Gideon Tolopa, 42, and Gift Kachingwe, 32, is charged with disorderly conduct at Kabwata Police Station.

The alleged incident occurred on February 27, 2024, when PF members gathered at the station in solidarity with detained party official Raphael Nakachinda.

When the case was called on Wednesday morning, Mwamba was absent.

His sureties informed the court that he was currently in the United States for medical reasons and is scheduled to return on March 4, based on his flight tickets.

However, Magistrate Masoja was not convinced and issued the bench warrant, returnable on February 26.
