The Zambia Medicines and Medical Supplies Agency (ZAMMSA) has reaffirmed its commitment to a zero-tolerance policy on corruption, emphasizing integrity and efficiency in the delivery of medicines and medical supplies nationwide.

Speaking at the official opening of the ZAMMSA Strategic Review Meeting in Lusaka, Director General John Kachimba urged staff to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and accountability.

“Corruption will not be tolerated at ZAMMSA. We must restore public confidence by fostering a performance-driven culture that prioritizes service excellence,” Kachimba said.

He outlined the agency’s commitment to risk management, financial prudence, and strategic transformation to ensure efficient healthcare delivery.

A key initiative is ZAMMSA’s shift toward full electronic integration, aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring life-saving medicines reach those in need without delay.

Kachimba also stressed the importance of multi-sectoral collaboration with stakeholders and cooperating partners, recognizing that collective action is essential for sustained success.

To align with the National Health Strategic Plan, he revealed moves for infrastructure expansion and development, ensuring that ZAMMSA continues to meet Zambia’s growing healthcare needs.

“Our focus must be on identifying challenges proactively, building resilience, and ensuring public trust remains at the heart of ZAMMSA’s operations,” Kachimba added.
