Zambia’s Muntanga uranium project, reportedly undertaken by GoviEx Uranium Inc., is positioned as one of the few advanced initiatives capable of meeting the growing global demand for nuclear energy.
Despite the rising need for uranium, there are reportedly few advanced projects in the pipeline, creating a significant supply gap that cannot be bridged in the near term.
This was revealed by GoviEx Uranium Inc. Executive Chairman Govind Friedland during an update on the feasibility study results for the Muntanga project.
Friedland noted that with production forecast for 2028, the project is uniquely positioned to deliver value while supporting the global shift toward sustainable energy solutions.
“The global energy landscape is undergoing a transformative shift, driven by the surging demand for clean, reliable power to support AI-driven technologies and electrification.
“Amid this growing need for nuclear energy, years of underinvestment in uranium exploration and development have left a critical supply gap that existing projects simply cannot fill.
“In this extraordinary market environment, Muntanga stands out as one of the few advanced uranium projects ready to help meet this demand,” Friedland said.
The feasibility study reportedly represents a detailed, fully costed, and updated engineering assessment of the Muntanga project, reflecting international best practices and standards for responsible project development.
