The Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) has announced a scheduled system downtime at the Tunduma Border, effective Thursday to Sunday, due to an upgrade by the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA).
Oliver Nzala, ZRA’s Corporate Communications Manager, urged key stakeholders—including importers, exporters, clearing agents, transporters, and the general public—to complete urgent tasks ahead of the shutdown.
He emphasized that the upgrade aimed to streamline operations and reduce clearance times, ultimately speeding up the movement of goods across the border.
Nzala reassured stakeholders that ZRA officials would be on hand to provide support during the downtime.
He also highlighted ongoing reforms to improve cross-border operations, including enhanced information exchange and pre-clearance programs for goods.
“This collaboration between ZRA and TRA is expected to improve efficiency and reduce delays at the Nakonde/Tunduma One-Stop Border Post,” Nzala said.
