Angela Mbambara, a businesswoman, has filed a lawsuit against the United Teachers Union of Zambia (UTUZ) for failing to pay her K730,000 for the supply of branded t-shirts and African fabric for Teachers’ Day and Women’s Day celebrations.

The lawsuit, filed before the Lusaka High Court, states that the union entered into a contract with Mbambara between September 2023 and March 2024, but has not paid the full amount owed.

Mbambara claims that she repeatedly contacted the union to resolve the outstanding debt, but the union has not made any efforts to settle the balance.

She argued that the union’s failure to fulfill its contractual obligations has caused her significant financial loss and damage.

Mbambara is seeking the payment of the outstanding balance, as well as damages for breach of contract, interest, and court costs.
