The draw for the 2024 CHAN, co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, took place on January 15, 2025, in Nairobi.
The co-hosting nations, along with defending champions Senegal, were seeded into the top positions in their respective groups.
CAF Director of Competitions Samson Adamu was joined by football legends Hassan Wasswa Mawanda (Uganda), Mrisho Ngasa (Tanzania), and McDonald Mariga (Kenya) to assist with the draw.
“Uganda is ready, and we’ve been waiting a long time to host such a tournament,” said Mawanda, a former Uganda Cranes captain with 75 caps.
