The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has taken legal action against Fredrobie Concept Zambia Limited, seeking K1 million owed to Division One teams.
Court documents filed in the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court reveal that Fredrobie Concept failed to fulfill its contractual obligations under a sponsorship and organizational agreement for the Division One playoffs.
The agreement, signed in November 2023, required Fredrobie to provide financial assistance, logistical support, promotional activities, and other services to participating teams.
According to FAZ General-Secretary Reuben Kamanga, the company did not meet any of these commitments, resulting in financial losses for the association.
FAZ is demanding compensation for damages, exemplary damages, and interest on all outstanding sums.
Under the contract, Fredrobie was obligated to pay K100,000 to each participating team, provide water and awards for players, and cover advertising and promotional costs.
However, FAZ claims that none of these terms were honored, forcing the association to shoulder the expenses.
