Renowned rapper,Mulaza Kaira, popularly known as Macky 2, has pledged K10,000 to support the rehabilitation of fellow artiste, Musonda Chishimba, alias Muzo Aka Alphonso, who is reportedly battling drug addiction.

The pledge followed an appeal by photographer and socialite Chellah Tukuta, who urged the public to assist Alphonso instead of mocking his condition.

Tukuta also pledged K10,000 to cover the singer’s rehabilitation costs.

In a Facebook post on Thursday, Macky 2 expressed concern over Alphonso’s deteriorating condition, urging Zambians to take meaningful action.

“Muzo Aka Alphonso’s situation is so hard for me to speak on because so much has been said already,” Kaira stated.

He emphasized that out of respect for Alphonso and his family, he chose to remain silent despite his name being dragged into conversations.

Acknowledging the singer’s struggle, Macky 2 posed a challenge to the public: “We know our brother needs help. What are we doing about it apart from sharing disturbing pictures of him? This is not the first time Muzo is trending like this—why have we collectively as a country failed to help him after all these years?”

Kaira lauded Tukuta and others who have stepped up to support Alphonso and confirmed his own pledge to match Tukuta’s donation.

The singer, known for hits like Nali Luba, has faced public scrutiny in recent years due to his struggles with drug abuse.

Macky 2’s call to action highlights the need for a collective effort to assist Alphonso in reclaiming his life and career.
