“The government is committed to ensuring the Zambia Police Service is equipped with well-trained officers who can respond to the rising needs of the public,” Mwiimbu said.

He added that continuous professional development would be a priority, with capacity-building programmes designed to expose officers to global best practices in law enforcement.

Mwiimbu further stated that efforts to enhance police performance included expanding the service’s workforce, acquiring more vehicles and providing necessary equipment for effective law enforcement.

“The newly graduating officers must quickly align themselves with the government’s goals for national development,” he said.

Mwiimbu urged the recruits to exhibit professionalism, dedication and commitment in their duties.

He also encouraged the new officers to serve with distinction, pride, fairness and integrity, reminding them that the nation supports their efforts to uphold peace and justice.
