Engineer Choolwe Andrew Nalubamba, Director-General of the Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority (ZICTA), has resigned from his position, the authority’s board announced on Friday.

ZICTA Board Chairperson, Professor Mundia Muya, confirmed the resignation in a statement, expressing the board’s appreciation for Nalubamba’s service during his tenure.

However, no reasons were provided for his decision to step down.

“The Board of the Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority has received and accepted the resignation of Director-General Eng. Choolwe Andrew Nalubamba,” said Muya.

Muya went on to thank Nalubamba for his leadership and contribution to the authority, wishing him success in his future endeavors.

The resignation followed widespread rumours circulating on social media earlier in the day, speculating about a potential dismissal of Nalubamba.

However, the board’s statement did not address those claims.
