A Yango driver from Kamwala South has died after being stabbed in the neck by unidentified men who ordered his ride in Lusaka on Sunday.
Police Public Relations Officer, Rae Hamoonga, identified the victim as 42-year-old Suzyo Mwale, who was driving a black Nissan Note with registration number AIE 7804.
Mwale was attacked by unknown assailants posing as clients.

In a statement issued in Lusaka on Tuesday, Hamoonga stated that the incident occurred in the Patel area of Makeni after Mwale was booked from Kalingalinga Compound between midnight and 4:00 a.m.
“During the robbery, the assailants stabbed Mwale in the left side of his neck, inflicting deep wounds,” he said, adding that the knife used in the attack was left lodged in the victim’s body.
The attackers then stole Mwale’s cell phones and wallet, which contained an undisclosed sum of money.
Despite being injured, Mwale managed to call for help, forcing the suspects to flee.
Passersby who heard his cries rushed him to Makeni Police Station, where he received a medical report before being transferred to the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) for emergency surgery.
“Sadly, despite medical intervention, Mr. Suzyo Mwale succumbed to his injuries and passed away on Monday morning,” Hamoonga said.
The Nissan Note involved in the incident has been impounded at Makeni Police Station as investigations continue.
“The Zambia Police Service strongly condemns this heinous act and is actively pursuing leads to apprehend the suspects involved,” Hamoonga added.
