The Zambia Medicines and Medical Supplies Agency (ZAMMSA) has been sued by Credible Property Development Limited over unpaid rent totaling K749,993.70 for a warehouse facility in Lusaka.

According to court filings, ZAMMSA rented the warehouse at Garden House Plaza for storing IV fluids and essential medicines from March to June 2024 but failed to pay rent for May and June, resulting in arrears of K375,000.

The agency also owed K374,993.70 for July and August, despite continuing to occupy the facility beyond the lease period.

Credible Property is seeking damages for breach of contract, eviction of ZAMMSA, interest on the unpaid amounts, and legal costs.

The plaintiff claimed ZAMMSA had repeatedly ignored requests to settle the debt, causing financial harm.

ZAMMSA allegedly took possession of the facility after a tender inquiry in March 2024 but defaulted on payments from May onward, with the total amount due now exceeding K749,000.

Credible Property had issued a termination notice but stated that ZAMMSA remained in occupancy, leading to claims of tenancy at sufferance.
