The Energy Regulation Board (ERB) has maintained petroleum prices for September, citing stability in the Kwacha and international oil prices.
Petrol remained at K33.47 per litre, diesel at K30.05, while kerosene stood at K27.52. Jet A-1 was set at K30.53 per litre.
ERB Board Chairperson, James Banda, stated on Sunday that during the review period, international petroleum prices declined, but the Kwacha depreciated against the U.S. dollar, balancing the impact.

“Since the last price review on July 31, 2024, the international price of petrol dropped by 6.61 percent, from US$88.61 to US$82.75 per barrel,” Banda said.
He noted that the international price of diesel also decreased by 5.85 percent, from US$95.87 to US$90.26 per barrel.
However, the Kwacha depreciated by 1.88 percent in August, from K26.01 to K26.50 per U.S.
