A 32-year-old woman has been found dead in an unfinished building in the Makeni area of Lusaka Province.
Police Public Relations Officer, Rae Hamoonga, confirmed that the deceased, identified as Precious Muchape, had been reported missing on Tuesday by her family at Kanyama Police Station.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Hamoonga revealed that Precious’ body was discovered with a cut on her left ear within an unfinished wall fence on Londola Road in Makeni.

“The incident is believed to have occurred between Tuesday and Saturday,” Hamoonga stated.
He said: “Before her disappearance, Precious contacted her brother, Prosper Mwanza, asking him to come to her house to receive her mobile money PIN. Around 01:00 hours on Tuesday, she tried to reach her brother by phone again, but he missed the call. When he attempted to return the call 10 minutes later, there was no answer. Concerned, Prosper visited her house the next morning but found it empty, with only K200 left on the table.
Despite searching for her at Buffalo area within Makeni, where she sold clothes, his efforts were unsuccessful.”
Her body was eventually discovered on Saturday around 17:15 hours by a 16-year-old boy who, along with friends, was taking a shortcut through the unfinished wall fence. The juvenile recognised the deceased as Precious Milimo, a fellow congregant at their church.
The boy informed his father, Sutherland Jerome, who then notified the deceased’s mother, Ms. Conscepter Kanyanga, of Plot 396/96 Makeni.
Precious’s body was transported to the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) mortuary, where it is awaiting a postmortem examination.
“Investigations are ongoing to establish the actual cause of death,” Hamoonga concluded.
