Judgment in the case against former Kabushi
Patriotic Front (PF) Member of Parliament, Bowman Lusambo, who faces three counts of attempting to interfere with witnesses, has been adjourned to September 19 after he was reported ill.

Lusambo is accused of trying to dissuade or prevent three witnesses—Cosmas Kapula Chalusa, Ernest Sumani, and Mundia Mataa—from giving evidence in court between February 1 and April 30, 2022, in Lusaka.

When the matter came up for judgment on Thursday, his surety, Mandevu Member of Parliament Christopher Shakafuswa, informed Lusaka Magistrate Trevor Kasanda that Lusambo was unwell, prompting the adjournment.

In a separate corruption case before Chief Resident Magistrate, Davies Chibwili, where Lusambo was expected to present his defense, the matter was adjourned to August 29.

It is alleged that between May 1, 2015, and December 31, 2021, Lusambo, jointly with other persons unknown, possessed property number F/609/E/44/B/9—a single-story four-bedroom house and a guest wing located in Chamba Valley, Lusaka—reasonably suspected of being proceeds of crime.
