All People’s Congress (APC) leader, Nason M’soni, has claimed that Zambians cannot afford to “endure” another five years under the leadership of President Hakainde Hichilema.

M’soni, who was part of the United Party for National Development (UPND) Alliance during the 2021 General Elections, said, “No one believes that President Hichilema should be part of the future of the country moving forward beyond 2026.”

In a video statement posted on his official Facebook handle on Friday, M’soni accused President Hichilema of presiding over “the most corrupt government in the history of our country.”

He claimed that the President’s alleged failure to deal with grand corruption and the theft of public resources made him unsuitable to continue in office beyond his current term.

“Zambia desperately needs a new breed of leaders who can inspire and unify our people to politics of a higher purpose,” M’soni said, adding that a leader who “comes to government to serve himself and his friends” is unfit for purpose.

“Those intent on dividing our people on regional lines cannot be part of our future,” he concluded.
