An 18-year-old girl in Lusaka’s Chunga area has been reported raped by three suspects who allegedly took turns assaulting her.
Police Deputy Public Relations Officer, Danny Mwale, revealed that the incident occurred while the girl was sleeping with other family members at their house in Chunga’s government farms area.
In a statement issued in Lusaka on Wednesday, Mwale explained that the victim went to the outside bathroom and noticed a vehicle parked near the house.

“It is alleged that one man approached her, requesting water to cool their vehicle engine,” Mwale stated.
He added that the suspect then asked her to accompany him to the vehicle to collect a container.
“While with the suspect at the alleged broken-down vehicle, she was bundled inside by two other men and taken to Chunga Cemetery, where she was raped and left helpless,” Mwale narrated.
A passer-by later found the victim and alerted the police, who rushed her to Chunga Clinic.
She was attended to by medical officers and subsequently discharged.
“Her condition is said to be stable. Police have instituted investigations to find the suspects,” Mwale pointed out.
