Despite the somber mood following the death of Zambian football star Justin Shonga, the team could not muster an improved performance.

A minute of silence was observed in honor of Shonga before the match began.

However, Comoros sealed Zambia’s fate with a 1-0 victory, securing their place in the semi-finals.

Ibrahim Youssouf’s 61st-minute goal was enough to push Comoros to the top of Group B with six points, while Zambia languished at the bottom of the table.

In other Group B action, Kenya secured a 2-0 win over Zimbabwe. Goals from Austin Odhiambo and Benson Ochieng in the 54th and 73rd minutes, respectively, propelled the Harambee Stars to victory.

Although Kenya and Zimbabwe both have six points, Kenya holds a superior goal difference.

However, Kenya’s semi-final qualification remained uncertain, pending the outcome of other group stage matches to determine if they would advance as the best second-placed team.
