Police in Lusaka have arrested the son of Zambia’s late Second Republican President, Frederick Chiluba, on suspicion of burglary.
According to the police, Frederick Chiluba Jr., aged 40, of the Ibex Meanwood area, allegedly broke into a house in the same area on Saturday.
In a statement issued in Lusaka, Police Public Relations Officer, Rae Hamoonga, said the suspect gained entry into the house by bending the burglar bars of a window.

“The suspect was apprehended inside the house by the owners,” Hamoonga stated.
He was believed to have been together with two other suspects who managed to escape.
Police officers were alerted and rushed to the scene, where the suspect was detained.
“A manhunt for the other suspects has been launched,” Hamoonga added.
