Energy Minister, Peter Kapala, says the increased loadshedding schedule announced last week will be reviewed in October, with a possibility of reducing the hours being experienced.
Kapala also announced that the government was implementing interventions such as importing diesel-powered generators and expanding Maamba Collieries to tackle the ongoing power crisis.
Regarding the review of the 12-hour loadshedding schedule, the Minister clarified that it depends on the success of the implemented interventions and any improvements in water levels at the Kariba Dam.

He urged consumers to participate in the “switch off and save” campaign, which encourages turning off all unused appliances to help mitigate the effects of the power crisis.
“This collective effort is expected to cushion the impact of loadshedding on households and businesses,” Kapala said.
Meanwhile, Kariba North Bank Senior Power Station Manager, Cephas Museba, warned of the possibility of the power station collapsing if it continues to generate power at its current capacity.
