The United Party for National Development (UPND) has urged former President Edgar Lungu to stay out of governmemt affairs.
UPND Copperbelt Chairperson, Patricia Mwaanga, alleged that Lungu during his seven years reign had only dragged Zambia into debt.
In a statement issued in Lusaka on Monday, Mwaanga said the amount of money borrowed cannot account for the infrastructure and development his party claimed to have built.

“Edgar Lungu never loved Zambians otherwise he could not have borrowed so carelessly and recklessly to the tune of US14 billion,” she claimed.
Mwaanga further alleged that the money was shared amongst those close to Lungu.
“A lot of money went into the pockets of individuals close to Edgar Lungu as commissions from projects. It is a shame that the real owners of the money who are Zambians were left with crumbs,” Mwaanga said.
She also urged the former Head of State to refrain from commenting on the cost of living.
“Edgar Lungu wants to sympathise with marketeers about the high cost of living when he never cared at the time cadres were extorting money and beating up citizens at will,” Mwaanga said.
