The Leadership Movement (LM) has challenged the United Kwacha Alliance (UKA) to explain its main agenda apart from that of removing President Hakainde Hichilema from power.
Party Secretary-General, Jairos Ngoma, said Zambians were still in the dark on what the UKA would do for them once they are given a chance to govern the country
Ngoma told Zambia Monitor in Lusaka that his party was not part of the Alliance because it does not understand the agenda and policies UKA wants to sell to the Zambian people.
He called on Zambians not to be swayed with the number of parties in the Alliance but the agenda which it would present to them as an alternative solutions to the ruling United Party for National Development (UPND) government.
“For us we want to understand what agenda because we already have the Alliance of the UPND. What was the agenda of the UPND Alliance, it was to remove PF, so what is UKA claiming right now,” Ngoma wondered.
He stated that Zambians should understand that they were the only true alliance which had existed for years and all those who were coming would crumble like the UPND/Patriotic Front did before removing the Movement for Multi-Party Democracy (MMD) from government.
Ngoma said late president Michael Sata had to leave the Alliance and sell the PF manifesto to the Zambians and this resulted in the defeat of the MMD government.
“PF under Sata formed government without any alliance. They had to sell their manifesto and Zambians believed in them and voted MMD out,” he stated.
