Zambia has called for the creation of joint partnerships and synergies with global players in key sectors for mutual benefits.
Acting Foriegn Affairs and International Cooperation Minister, Mulambo Haimbe, also noted the need for Africa to be recognized as an equal partner in matters of global development.
Haimbe said this in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia where he together with Finance and National Planning Minister, Dr Situmbeko Musokotwane, are attending the Special Meeting of the World Economic Forum on Global Cooperation, Growth and Energy for Development.
Haimbe and Musokotwane are attending the Special World Economic Forum at the invitation of their Saudi counterparts, Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Mohammed Al Jadaan, Minister of Finance, respectively.
The special meeting is aimed at promoting dialogue and enhancing global collaboration and international action to devise sustainable solutions to challenges that hinder growth.
The meeting is focusing on the promotion of global collaboration, growth and energy for development.

The World Economic Forum has brought together several Heads of States, Ministers, leaders of International Organisations as well as business, who are discussing ways of developing resilient, sustainable and more equitable wealth across countries.
“The meeting also presented an opportunity for African countries like Zambia to create joint partnerships and synergies with global players in key sectors for mutual benefit,” Hambe noted.
The minister emphasised that the meeting deliberated on matters of global peace, security and stability as a prerequisite for development.
Haimbe and Musokotwane are expected to hold several bilateral meetings with Ministers and heads of multinational companies.
“This would include Ayman Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, as well as Vicenzo Ventricelli, Chief Executive Officer of Phillips International,” reads the statemnet.
According to a statement issued in Lusaka on Monday from the mission in Saudi Arabia, the meetings are aimed at fostering mutually beneficial relationships with Zambia.
